Preparation

All of our tours begin at the Sea Kayak Halkidiki center, unless we state otherwise. We are situated in the main road of Vourvourou village, next to Hotel Rema. Click here for detailed driving instructions. Please arrive 30 minutes before your tour is scheduled to begin, and give yourself extra time if you need to park. We can provide free parking places to all our guests.

No experience is required for our kayak tours! Our adventures are for everyone. Our trips are designed to cater to all levels of experience and abilities. Most of our guests have never been in a sea kayak before. Anyone in average physical condition may join a Sea Kayak Halkidiki trip. The only requirement is a healthy spirit of curiosity and adventure. Regardless of age or skill level you will find that our sea kayaking trips offer enough flexibility to make your experience with us safe and rewarding.

Sea Kayak Halkidiki prides itself on being a family-friendly kayaking company. Our aim is to get your kids out on the water and developing an active lifestyle and an appreciation of the natural world! We’ve found that most kids younger than four (4) years old have a difficult time sitting in a kayak for the duration of the trip. Some older children may also need to move around more. As parents you probably know your children’s capabilities. The crucial thing is that the child is water confident. Custom trips can accommodate younger paddlers in most destinations (please contact us first). There is no upper age limit, although for those over 65 we prefer to discuss their physical abilities before making a reservation.

Our groups are small, ranging from 2 to a maximum of 20 people, in order to provide you with the best experience possible. Sea Kayak Halkidiki maintains a minimum ratio of one guide for every 6 guests on most trips.

Sea kayaking distance is best measured in hours rather than kilometres. For Half-Day trips, no longer than 2 hours. For Full-Day trips no longer than 3 hours. For Sunset trip no longer than 1. However that really depends on the weather, activities along the way, group fitness and skill. We start off each kayak trip with a planned route, but there is always some flexibility available.

Sea Kayak Halkidiki has both tandem and solo kayaks, but most people on our shorter trips use tandems because they are faster, more comfortable and more spacious. They can also be used as triple kayaks for families with small children (they have a small seat in between).Plus, if you get tired, your partner can pick up the slack!

Not much, remember our trips are all inclusive. We do suggest you bring appropriate clothing to fit the season, a hat, sun glasses, sun cream and a beach towel. For our Hiking trip please wear whatever is comfortable. Also, it is recommended to have a sturdy pair of broken-in trail shoes, boots, or sneakers.
